Call for Volunteers ANNOUNCEMENT 2022
Hello!
We are excited to announce that VanCAF will be returning with an in-person festival for 2022! We are happy to be back and have missed you all. The festival will strive to create a variety of opportunities for folks to take part in, depending on personal comfort levels. There will be a variety of both in-person and online events. VanCAF 2022’s in-person festival will host numerous volunteer opportunities helping out with customer service, set-up/tear down, day-to-day festival operations, panels & workshops. Similar to last year’s festival, VanCAF 2022 Online will consist of a mix of live and pre-recorded online workshops, panels and more!
We are currently recruiting volunteers to help out with different programming opportunities. Volunteers are an essential part of VanCAF and we thank you in advance for taking the time to fill out this form. This show wouldn’t be possible without the tireless efforts of our past and future volunteers so we greatly appreciate you for offering to help us in dedicating time to this festival. All volunteers can choose to volunteer exclusively in-person, exclusively online, or a combination of both.
Online volunteer support leading up to the festival will be needed throughout the week of May 16th to the 22nd. In-person volunteer support will be primarily needed on site at the Roundhouse, from the 20th to the 22nd.
Online volunteer roles this year will be supporting:
- Online events over Zoom
- Pre-recorded interviews/podcasts/tutorials
- Closed captioning & transcription
- Social media
- Graphic Design
- Multimedia editing
- Alt-text for images and photos
In-person volunteer roles this year will be supporting:
- Festival set-up and teardown
- Customer service
- Directing attendees
- Assisting with panels and workshops
- Event Photography
- Working with child and youth programming
Please note that certain roles may require a cleared criminal record check. We will take care of that process for you!
