JP Ayres is a cartoonist, a hack, and a comix pariah based in Vancouver, BC.

Ayres is the creator of GASH, an ongoing series set in the planetary garbage dump of a techno-hedonist empire. What plays out is a violent satire of modern masculinity, late-stage capitalism, and the place of the queer within these systems. The work navigates themes of body horror, identity, and systemic collapse.

Working in dense black and white textures, Ayres channels the grotesque within cultural myths to expose their raw human underbellies. Their genre-blending work sits at the crossroads of horror, queer rage, and speculative sci-fi. Where punk meets poetry and violence gives birth to the aesthetics of Junk Punk.
