Alyssa Hirose is a Vancouver-based artist who has been drawing diary comics under the Instagram handle @hialyssacomics for four years—actually, her official 4th comic-iversary is during the VanCAF 2022 festival! That’s 1400+ comics that document all her ups and downs and sideways spirals. Alyssa is a graduate of UBC’s Creative Writing program, and she’s also a magazine editor, freelance writer and improv comedian. Yikes, that’s a lot of creative outlets when you write ’em all down.
